Screening

Our finished thriller was view by 20 people, so that we could get there views on the finished edits. We asked every person what there thoughts were on the thriller and asked for there feedback whether good or bad. There was all different feedback from the people we asked some negative but mostly positive.

The positive feedback that we received was that the sound track was effective to the clip as it allowed tension to build up for the audience and for them to see something bad was going to happen. They also said that the different camera angles was effective to the whole clip. They like the beginning of the film, when we did the flash back, to when Stephanie and Ben where younger, they said it gave it a very good effect allowing them to see that they have been best friend's for years. Therefore, they said that they enjoyed the over all clip and would watch it again.

The negative feedback we received was that we could have added in some more edits such as dissolves and special effects and we could have been a bit more effective with the camera angles at certain points within the clip, and maybe some more non-diegetic sounds.

Evaluation Question 6

What have you learned about the technologies from the process of constructing your product?

The things that i have learnt when completing my thriller is how to use a digital camcorder. The things that i learned to do on a digital camcorder was:
  • zoom in and out on objects and people
  • using the steady cam
  • making sure that the camera is fully charged before using it
  • putting the digital camera on to a tripod

I have also learnt how to crop different images on the computer and edited clip when wanting to make them better or change something in the clip. Therefore, learnt how to use premier pro to do the editing on and to import and export videos and clips that i need.
I also know to embed different videos that i need onto my blogger so that i am able to share it with others.

I also learned how to use  adobe photo-shop pro cs6 in order to edit, to either shorten down clips or put my own edits into them. Therefore, meaning that i was able to learn the different tools that i needed to use, some that i already new and some that i had used for the first time.

I went on a website to create my indent which i used in the beginning of my thriller. we named it after the beginning of all our group members initials as this was the only thing we could think of.
We edited our film using adobe premiere pro cs6 which helped us put our clips together, shorten down certain clips and we added some music in the back ground which was non-diegetic.

We used all different internet sites to help complete my thriller and to help do some of my evaluation questions. The reason we used these internet sites was to make our evaluation questions more interesting.

However, i also learnt how to embed clips onto my blogger, this was so that we was able to upload out thriller on to out blogger so other can see it. On the other hand, i also learnt how to upload clip on to youtube and how to make them public or private to others.

I used all different sites such as prezi, popplet and infogr.am to do our evaluation questions on to help complete the evaluation questions. These sites i never new existed until i had to complete my blogger. Therefore, meaning that these are something that i would be able to use in the future if at any point i was doing something like this again.

Evaluation Question 1

Audience feedback

The audience who watched our film said that the storyline was very interesting as it is relatable however very unexpected as they didn't expect one of the main characters to die first. The film wasn't predictable as they didn't see most things coming and the non diegetic sound complimented the film very well. the use of the diegetic sound was very smart, for example the sound of the door opening and the notification sound from the phone which both gave a realistic feel to it.
however they did have a few critical view points such as the shots at the beginning being a little to jumpy, we fixed this after our first draft and the audience viewed it again, giving us positive feedback about it.

First Draft Evaluation

We asked others to view our film to get some feedback, we found out that the audience who viewed our thriller thought that the beginning of the thriller was a little jumpy, however they said the audio and the actual storyline was very interesting.

Editing 1

Editing 1

We edited our film using Adobe Premiere Pro. The first day we edited our film we got all the cameras we used and uploaded all our videos. we then placed the shots together in order and made sure that the clips were short and fast paced. we made sure that the clips fitted well together and they didn't jump from one scene to another making it look unprofessional. Furthermore we then added titles to the film but also made sure they faded out and faded in but that they were also within the same position.

First filming day

First day of filming

On our first day of filming we arranged to meet up in school. we filmed on the school site making sure that the area in which we were filming in was empty to prevent others coming into the shot. However we did face a few problems, for example the camera stopped working during one of our shots which in this situation we had to replace the camera and begin our filming again. Also we had to be cautious of the time as the children from the lower years moved classes after the bell went which could have been a problem as they could have got into our shots. however we did manage to film the first half of the film during our first day filming. Therefore we filmed the falling out between the two characters which had been best friends for years but also how vengeance comes about between the two and leads to uncertainty amongst the other person as to what they meant but also what will happen.
